WELCOME!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my little photography site. I have been a photographer for years, but now I find myself working in a library. It sounds strange, yes, but what I am doing is helping create digital archives. Makes more sense now. Right? On this site I'll share with you images, and stories about the people, places and memories that go along with these images. I hope you enjoy the time you spend here.

back[b]log -- Henry and his peeps

So as I previously stated. I have some serious back [b]logging to do.

Do you remember Henry the Happy Baby? He's made a couple of appearances here on the blog, but there were so many images from his session that I wanted to share, but life got a little crazy. (I'll be talking about what's been going on in my life over on my personal blog.)

To begin, I have known Henry's parents, Marty and Amy, for years. Marty and I went to college together. He and Amy have always had a very cool, hip, retro sort of style. And I can tell already that Henry has inherited this sensibility.

For starters, he has one of coolest nurseries I have ever seen...a wonderful mix of modern and mid-century design.
Heck, I want my room to look my like Henry's. (PS I also want this chair.)

Don't you love the hat and super cute onesie. His mom found them on Etsy. We love Etsy!!!

I shared this next image on my facebook page with the caption: "Hi I'm Henry, and deez are my peeps" It still makes me giggle.

Tomorrow I'll be posting a few more images of Henry and his peeps. Stay tuned. :)

I've had a very domestic weekend thus far, spending a good bit of my day running down to the basement working on laundry. A year or so ago, the Little Dog would have accompanied me on these little trips, but after a post-surgery tumble down the stairs she has learned that she can't.

So instead she, waits patiently at the top of the stairs, and as I return upstairs I get this view. It always makes me smile.

It's nice to know that someone is keeping an eye out for you.

8/5 Instagram Love!!!

Back in March or April, I got an Ipad. (I hate to admit how much I love this little piece of technology, but that is a subject for another post.) One of the first apps I downloaded was Instagram. After seeing all the examples my friends were posting on facebook, I knew I had to have it. Vintage photo borders, cool retro effects, tilt-shift options. Why wouldn't a self-proclaimed photo nerd love this App. Oh! And did I mention the price....FREE!!!! Love that!

So after several months of playing around with the app, I have noticed a strange phenomenon.

Birthday lunch.

My coffee mug says it all today.

Birthday pie!!!

What is it about Instagram that compels me to photograph what I eat and drink?

Pancakes

Veggie sandwich

I mean seriously. Do I think anyone really cares about this? No, but I still do it. And so do lots of other people.

Spinach salad

It's kind of weird. Harmless but weird. I just don't get it.

Sunday morning coffee on the deck

Dinner on the back porch

Okay maybe food isn't the only thing I share on Instagram.

8/1 my favorite tree.

I'm trying really hard to get back into the blogging habit, something I've let slide a bit for the last couple of months. For the month of August I'll be participating in a little project called the August Break. So hopefully you'll be seeing more photos show up here. I have quite the back [b]log built up from sessions I've done over the spring and summer. But, in addition to that I thought I'd share some more personal photos just for the heck of it.

Happy August Everyone!!!
