Sadness and Gratitude

My heart sank  when I heard about today's explosions at the Boston Marathon.   You may remember Alicia, one of my bride's from last year (and my friend.) She was running the race today.

Thankfully, she crossed the finish line  just twenty minutes before the event and were  in the safety of the hotel at the time of the explosion.

My heart and prayers got out to everyone in Boston today.

Spring finally arrived here in Lexington,  Yesterday, I got to capture some of its beauty during my engagement session with Zyn and Kelson.

I know most people prefer the photos of bright and big smiles.  I love those too, but there is such a sweetness to this image.  I love both their expressions so much.   I thought it was appropriate for Mother's Day. (I know you're saying to yourself, "But its not Mother's day for a couple more months?")  Thanks to my friends in the UK I now know that today is Mother's Day there. We'll go with that. :)

It's hard to believe that it has been six months since I last saw this little one.  She was just a week old now she's on the move (on all fours of course.)  Time certainly does fly.

The last time I saw Miss Emma it was on my birthday. At that time she would have had no idea what a birthday was.  Now she has had one of ver very own. Happy Birthday Emma!
