WELCOME!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my little photography site. I have been a photographer for years, but now I find myself working in a library. It sounds strange, yes, but what I am doing is helping create digital archives. Makes more sense now. Right? On this site I'll share with you images, and stories about the people, places and memories that go along with these images. I hope you enjoy the time you spend here.

the first mother's day

Like so many things in my life, I'd wanted to post these images much sooner than now, but you know sometimes life gets in the way of your best intentions. In the past I'd be more likely to shrug it off and say "Too Late." But, as part of my birthday resolutions I'm trying to a) blog more regularly, b) not worry about whether its too late to blog about something. I have a really hard time tuning out the white noise of my day to day life, and finding the time to organize my thoughts well enough in my own mind, let alone getting them coherent enough to share here. Case in point ....I'm even getting off topic here.

Many weeks ago I got an email from Dawn and Brandon, loving parents of the adorable Mr. Riley, inviting me up to their home in Chicago for a visit and to do some family photos. Visit with friends and I get to take pictures! Sign me up!

My visit just happened to coincide with Mother's Day, and this was Dawn's first Mother's Day. I can't tell you how honored it made me feel to be able to share even a little bit of this special first.

I have dozen's of images I plan on posting in the future but for now it might be fun to share just a few of the casual photos.

Mother's Day according to Riley.

#1. Get Mom a card. Always get Mom a card

#2. Cards are good, but phone calls are even better. Be sure to call the Grandma's too.

#3. Cards and phone calls are nice, but nothing beats some quality time with just you and Mom. Any mother will tell you that this is the best present a mother could receive.

Again, thank you Dawn for letting me share in some of your memorable moments.
